This new direct to home TV service will now allow viewers in Austria to watch both ORF TV channels and commercial channels in HD quality via satellite, without the use of digital ORF smartcard.

With the new platform, Austria HD wants to gain about 2 million Austrian DTH households with a broader formation of new interactive features and high-definition.
