Eutelsat and Wiztivi Launched Sat.TV app for Hotbird FTA TV Viewers
Eutelsat, the Wiztivi launched an application for Hot Bird free to air TV viewers. Eutelsat and multiscreen television solutions Wiztivi experts launched Sat.tv, an intelligent electronic program guide (EPG) app for tablets and smartphones, at the TV Connect show in London. The application is meant for the 66 million households in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East equipped for Direct-to-Home (DTH) reception of Eutelsat Hot Bird satellite, which gives access to more than 300 channels free to air TV channel signal (FTA) provides.
With Sat.tv app broadcasters can introduce plans, offer satellite TV guide and program information for the real-time display through the application. EPG interface is available for viewers in five languages English, French, Russian, Italian, Arabic and the details of the program are available in 40 languages. The Key features ofSat.tv app for Hotbird satellite includes access to comprehensive programs in the Hot Bird channel lineup, with options to navigate by time, channel or content type. Viewers can select their favorite content in one click and get personalized recommendations generated according to their taste. Viewers can also share any application contentin their social networking profiles. Sat.tv an HTML-based application based on 5 TimeLessTouch, HTML5 user interface is developed by Wiztivi product for mobile devices, the user interface WiztiviFramework Multivision Company (UI) Software Development Kit (SDK). Eutelsat and Wiztivi could accelerate the development and implementation of Sat.tv for both iOS and Android platforms. Wiztivi also has a back-office configured to allow the channels broadcasters to edit their programming directly. Broadcasters, including CCTV, Channel One Russia Worldwide, Euro News, France 24, TV5 Monde and RT have already opted for this solution.
