Jio Selected TiVo’s CubiTV to deliver TV service in India Jio DTH

(RJMPL) has chosen CubiTV, TiVo Hybrid TV entertainment to offer best Hybrid TV entertainment in India and 4K HD set-top boxes (4K STB). Reliance Jio Media Pvt. (RJMPL) has chosenTiVoCubiTV to offer Hybrid TV entertainment to subscribers through 4K high definition decoders and 4KHD STB, JIO said in an explanation.
CubiTV will use the HD platforms and advanced 4K decoders (4K STB) of Jio. CubiTV will provide PVR, video on demand, catch-up TV and network PVR, content and access to over-the-top services (OTT) to the entertainment lovers. "The agreement with TiVo and RJMPL explained that with this agreement our product innovations will create hybrid solutions from television and finding content in the markets, such as India where rapid digitization is taking place." TiVo will help provide a new set of features and capabilities for companies such as RJMPL that consumers can access a wide range of new experiences, "said Michael Hawkey, senior vice president and general manager of the experience users of TiVo. The CubiTV hybrid TV solution is widely used by operators in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and now in India. The solution is cost-effective, affordable and provides an excellent user experience for customers who expect the latest television advances available today, Tivo said in a statement. Jio TV will probably provide more than 360 channels, including at least 50 in HD, and catch-up services. The company is likely to launch different content, such as sportscombo pack or a TV combo from South India, according to media. Reliance Jio, which launched in September 2016, currently provides the live TV service through its application Jio TV to its users.
