New international Armenian DTH TV service launched on Hotbird satellite. A new pay-TV service for Armenian speakers, Shant TV, will be launched on July 15 on Eutelsat's Hotbird platform.

Armenian commercial broadcaster Shant TV has signed a multiyear contract with Eutelsat to make high definition service available to consumers in Europe, the Middle East and Europe of Russia.

Shant TV will be available internationally to DTH homes with a suitable box, as well as through cable networks and IPTV.

Eutelsat said there are about four million Armenian speakers living in Hotbird's footprint, who will be able to view content including movies, music and local adaptations of popular international formats like X-Factor and Who Wants to Millionaire?
