Satellite TV platform DirecTV has announced to broadcast the first Paralympic Games Parasuramericanos (South America) by creating a special channel for games to their millions direct to home TV (DirecTV) users.

The pay-TV service aims to telecast live Paralympics game channel to more than six million households in eight areas in Latin America, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and the Caribbean.

South America Paralympics bigin today (27 March) in the Chilean capital Santiago, with more than 600 athletes from nine countries. The first edition of this competition: basketball, tennis, petanque (the Latin American version of bowling), athletics, weightlifting, table tennis and swimming.

DirecTV, the satellite TV with over 20 million customers has in the U.S. and 17 million in Latin America and the Caribbean, will broadcast the Paralympics until Sunday (March 30), when the closing ceremony will take place.
