Dish Sling TV Added Free Speech TV and Newsmax TV: Dish Network Update

Dish Network Update: Newsmax TV, Free Speech TV now available on Dish's Sling TV. Dish Network's Sling TV is now launching two news channels, from different ends of the political spectrum, as part of the additional level of news programming of the Internet television service.

Newsmax, the conservative newscast and Free Speech TV, a progressive, commercial-free network, compatible with viewers, are available in the Sling TV News Extra package, which costs $5 extra per month.

In a special promotion, Sling TV will make Newsmax and Free Speech TV available free of charge to all Sling Orange customers ($20 per month) and Sling Blue ($25 per month) over the next three months. Next, subscribers must pay the additional $ 5 to subscribe to the News Extra package.

Both Newsmax TV and Free Speech TV are available for free to broadcast online, without any subscription. The Newsmax linear transmission is available at and Free Speech TV is at Dish's bet is that Sling TV customers will see the value of having the networks available in an integrated service along with the rest of their TV line.

The additions join the other networks available in the Sling's News Extra package: BBC World News, HLN, Fusion, TheBlaze, Euronews, Weather Nation, RT from Russia, India News18 and CGTN, a Chinese channel in English.

Dish launched Sling TV three years ago, as it seems to compensate for the drop in subscriptions in its main satellite TV business. At the end of the first quarter of 2018, the company had 10.85 million Dish satellite TV subscribers - a net loss of 94,000 in the period - and 2.3 million Sling TV subscribers, 91,000 more sequentially.
