The topic was raised in connection with the acquisition of the largest Indian broadband provider Reliance Jio for the acquisition of two of India's largest cable providers.

Jio is expected to launch its broadband offering shortly, which will include a TV service that will allow users to pause and rewind live channels and view past programming and video-on-demand.

The offer, which is expected to cost Rs 500 per month and includes a number of free Internet access, is expected to be available to cable and DTH providers in the 1500 cities where it will initially be launched.

Cable and DTH operators must provide broadband services or at least connect to broadband service providers to compete with the service.

Dish TV has already announced plans to provide about 4 million updates to its customers so that its decoders can simultaneously enhance Jio's features such as pause, rewind and video. Inquiry.

Airline updates to enable such features in Dish TVs will be made in December.

However, enabling the functions in the box is only part of the solution.

For the new functions to work, the box must be connected to a cheap broadband Internet connection.

That's why we have connections to broadband players like Bharti Airtel, BSNL, You Broadband, Excitel and Spectra.

As part of this connection, broadband subscribers to companies such as Spectra and Excitel could benefit from a free and sophisticated satellite TV connection that includes rewinding features such as video-on-demand and pause and internet

While the satellite provides "live" channels, other functions such as pause, rewind, and video-on-demand are provided by the Dish TV servers over the broadband connection.

This move will benefit both the players.

On the one hand, this will allow broadband providers such as Spectra to adapt to Reliance Jio's IPTV offering without additional investment in film rights, channel and broadcast negotiations, and content servers. On the other hand, this will help ensure that DTH players like Dish TV, which already have content, broadcasting rights and set-top boxes, remain relevant and provide the functionality provided by the Jio GigaFiber service.
