Airtel Digital TV Lowers Pack Price By Removing Network Capacity Fee NCF

Indian dth Airtel Digital TV eliminates the network capacity fee for its TV viewers. This is just an offer for those who subscribe to long term plans. Following the entry into force of the Tariff Ordinance of the Indian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRAI), consumers across the country complained of an increase in the DTH TV and cable TV bill. To satisfy them, the DTH operators waive the network capacity plan (NCF). Airtel Digital TV has now joined the league of operators who have eliminated the NCF in the free to air television channels (FTA TV) that follow on Tata Sky, Dish TV and Sun Direct.

Indian dth Airtel Digital TV abandons NCF only because of its long-term plans. Subscribers under three months, the six-month plan and the twelve-month plan can use this service. According to the media, modified long-term plans are now available in some areas and should be extended to other regions within a few weeks.

Under the latest framework, customers will have to pay Rs 130 to get the first 100 TLC channels. For each block of 25 payment channels, a network surcharge of 20 Rs per month will be charged.

Last month, TRAI extended the deadline for cable, Indian dth and satellite TV customers on March 31 to select their channels under the new tariff system. The regulator added that the old subscriber plan would be maintained until the consumer made its decision. TRAI also stated that subscribers who do not exercise options are transferred to "best-fit plans".
