At the Sydney gala star party, the pioneering pay-TV company unveiled a new-look logo and on-demand platform, Foxtel Now, which will provide viewers with low-priced, flexible subscriptions to their lifestyle Favorite, drama, sport and film programming.

An evolution of the existing Foxtel Play package, Foxtel Now will ensure that subscribers will have more freedom and access to Foxtel content, from as little as $10 per month.
Foxtel CEO Peter Tonagh said: “Foxtel Now represents our most flexible and affordable entertainment service and brings high-definition streaming, a great new look and the freedom to enter and exit according to your viewing preferences.”
Foxtel Now will feature five entry-level packages to meet the interests of viewers, including drama and pop packages ($15 each or $25 for both); Or lifestyle, documentaries or children’s packages for only $10 each.
The drama and pop packages are expected to be the most popular, allowing access to Foxel’s award-winning HBO roster including Westworld, VEEP, Big Little Lies and the upcoming seven season of Game Of Thrones for only $15 a month; As well as the impressive local dramas, including a place to call home (starring Abby Earl), Wentworth and new productions like Picnic At Hanging Rock.
The Foxtel Now movie pack is available for $20 a month, plus an entry level package; While the sports package is available for an extra $29 per month, which means that sports fans can now access Foxtel’s extensive sports programming of $39 per month.
Mr Tonagh said: “We believe that everyone deserves to experience the best entertainment in the world.
“Foxtel is already famous for offering an award-winning local drama as well as unparalleled live sport, new movies, new shows and more complete seasons than any other person in Australia.
Unfortunately, there are not enough Australians who can enjoy this incredible programming.
“We believe it’s time to change that, so we’ve taken some important steps to diversify our service to offer the largest and most affordable range of options for everyone.
“Starting tomorrow, all Australians will be able to see what they want, whenever and wherever they want, at a price that suits them best, low cost, no commitment, HD streaming to a cutting-edge viewing experience through our Cable, foxtel box and satellite iQ3 set top box.”
Australia’s premier paid television service has invested more than $100 million annually in local programming (outside the news and sports), with Foxtel Original productions winning numerous industry awards in recent years.
Foxtel Now, to be released tomorrow, will be available on PC/Mac through the Google Chrome browser, Telstra TV, iOS and Android and Chromecast tablets and mobile.
Additional devices will be upgraded in the coming months, so other devices including PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and selected Smart TVs can stream Foxtel content to SD through the Foxtel Play application.
Expanding its Foxtel On Demand library, Foxtel will now offer a selection of more than 16,000 television programming titles and on demand movies with more than 1,200 of the most popular films available, including 98 of the top 100 blockbuster films of 2016.
20th Century Fox’s recently released Foxtel titles arrive 12 months before Netflix and Stan, including the hit films Eddie The Eagle, X-Men: Apocalypse, Independence Day: Revival and Ice Age: Collision Course.
