CES 2021: Next Samsung 4K TVs and 8K TVs come with Neo Mini-LED. CES 2021: Samsung’s Neo QLED TV promise improved picture contrast ratio and brightness over existing QLED displays. Samsung wants to control the CES technology show this year with its next-generation QLED TV models. Its QLED TVs have been impressive, but this year, Samsung’s new system features new Neo QLED TVs. Yes, Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs have an improved background system based on the Mini-LED.
As Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs are based on the Mini-LED, they promise to bring a better contrast with deeper black levels and direct light control. After TCL, Samsung is the second largest company to use Mini-LED on its high-end TVs.
South Korea’s chief technology officer, also one of the world’s most popular TV companies, says that the LEDs used on these TVs are 40 times smaller than regular LED TVs with full-featured lighting. Given these Mini-LED TVs pack a lot of LEDs in a small space, this leads to more precise lighting.
Neo QLED TV technology will be available on Samsung’s 2021 TV lineup, including the QN900A 8K TV and QN90A 4K TV. Not to mention Samsung also sells high-end TVs with Micro-LED.
What is a Mini-LED display tech and why is everyone talking about it?
Samsung’s 2020 TV set will support the next generation of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. TVs include features such as 4K / 120fps support and a “game bar” with quick access to settings, update rate, feature rating and more. Interestingly, Samsung also allows you to change the TV rating (21: 9 or 32: 9) while playing the game.
Samsung announced the 2021 TV program with Neo QLED TV and microLED
Samsung has introduced what it calls Neo QLED in its 8K (QN900A) and 4K (QN90A) models. Neo QLED is a combination of new lighting technology and new image processing.
Neo QLED uses Mini LED backlight technology, which consists of very small LED items on the back of the display that can focus light on a very small area. This allows for very small areas in a complete system of local blur and localized light, resulting in high contrast. Samsung does not specify how much space their new TVs have, that it is better than their traditional QLED.
Neo QLED TV also has a new image processor called the Neo Quantum Processor, which uses 16 network models trained in AI upscaling and in-depth learning to enhance the input signal in the native panel resolution.
The 2021 Neo QLED TVs will also offer other features, such as slimmer bezels, a new Slim One Connect Box for cable management, a new audio system with object tracking and fine-tuning. Other new features include Samsung Health with personal trainer feature, 21: 9 and 32: 9 game modes, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Google Duo, and Office 365 integrated.
Samsung has also announced two new models that include microLED technology. These will be available in two sizes – 110 “and 99” – and will be available as traditional televisions with the Samsung Smart TV platform. They will include 4K resolution, 4×4 split-screen views, and 5.1 audio.
